The GY-511 module is a breakout board for ST Micro’s LSM303DLHC e-Compass IC. The LSM303DLHC combines a 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis magnetometer in a single tiny chip and provides 16-Bits of resolution for each of the 6 axes. Other features include an embedded digital output temperature sensor, an on-chip FIFO buffer, extremely low power consumption and 2 independent programmable interrupt generators for free-fall and motion detection.
